[Salon] 2, 913 Palestinian children killed in Gaza with US approval

FM: John Whitbeck

Transmitted below is tonight's DCIP update on Palestinian children killed by Israeli bombing since October 7 -- 2913 whose bodies have been counted when brought     to hospitals plus an estimated 940 "missing" under the rubble, all of them killed with the active enabling and support of the U.S. government.

As the full consequences of Israel's "total seige" take effect, far more are likely to die in the coming days from dehydration, starvation, normally treatable illnesses, the     inability of the few remaining functional hospitals to adequately treat the wounded and the fuel-deprived shutting-down of premature babies' incubators.

Inevitably, it will be even more difficult than with bombing deaths to count such deaths in a manner adequate to obtain confidence in the numbers from President             Biden.

NOTE: As reported by HAARETZ and noted in the article on "What Really Happened on 7th October" which I circulated earlier today, Israel has been only able to cite     16 children killed by Hamas fighters on October 7.

John --

The Palestinian child death toll in Gaza has climbed to 2,913—nearly 3,000 Palestinian children killed by Israeli forces in less than three weeks. An estimated 940 Palestinian children are missing under the rubble, as fuel shortages make it impossible to use excavators and other heavy machinery to extricate people from buildings decimated by Israeli airstrikes.

The United States is not simply standing by, but is actively enabling and supporting the gravest crime under international law: genocide. Israeli warplanes are entirely U.S.-sourced and the munitions killing Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are overwhelmingly American-made weapons.

Yesterday, the House of Representatives overwhelmingly voted in support of H.Res. 771, a resolution expressing solidarity with Israel and condemning attacks by Hamas and other armed groups this month. In a roll call vote on the House floor yesterday, 412 members of Congress approved the resolution, with 10 lawmakers voting ‘no’, 6 voting ‘present’, and 5 not voting.

On October 16, Representatives Ayanna Pressley, Cori Bush, Rashida Tlaib, André Carson, Summer Lee, and Delia C. Ramirez introduced the Ceasefire Now resolution in the House of Representatives urging the Biden Administration to call for an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Israel and Palestine, to send humanitarian aid and assistance to Gaza, and to save as many lives as possible. The resolution currently has the support of 18 members of Congress. Tell your member of Congress to call for a ceasefire now.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Security Council failed again yesterday to agree on a resolution that would help end or pause hostilities.

There is no question that Israeli forces are actively committing the crime of genocide against Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. As President Biden and other world leaders enable the killings and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, it is up to everyday people to demand justice and safety for Palestinians. Thank you for all you're doing.

In solidarity,

Brad Parker
